Irish Open Data Week – Open Data for an Open Future

The 'Irish Open Data Week – Open Data for an Open Future' event will take place on the 7th November 2011, in the Aula Maxima, in University College Cork.

As part of a national initiative, this event is striving to raise the profile and potential of open data in Ireland. With increased ability to capture, process and store data, public organisations are beginning to see the benefit in opening this data to its citizens. With countries such as the UK and US leading the way, Ireland is just starting out on its open data path. Highlighting the state of play of open data in Ireland, the aim is provide a platform for future initiatives and events and a more transparent future for Irish citizens
